"Santa for Seniors" Mission
Statement
With the vision to make the holiday season a little brighter for local senior citizens, the “Santa for Seniors” program was conceived in 2009. Seniors who may lack the support of family or have limited financial resources can be referred by local service providers to
receive a Christmas gift.
Seniors can be adopted by community members by calling the Santa For Seniors Hotline at 315-377-2077 or
by listening to The Moose radio station. Gift suggestions, age and gender will be provided
by the adopted senior. Gifts will be returned
unwrapped, and volunteers will wrap and prepare gifts for delivery.
Monetary donations are accepted and used solely to purchase gifts
for seniors who are not adopted, items to enhance already donated gifts, and for
program/wrapping supplies. Donations should be mailed or dropped off at the Lowville Food Pantry, 5502 Trinity Avenue, Lowville, NY 13367. Checks should be made payable to the Lowville Food Pantry, Santa For Seniors.
The community support for this program since it’s conception has
been nothing less than amazing. The “Santa
for Seniors” program looks forward to partnering with CSEA Local 825, the
Lowville Food Pantry, the Christmas Sharing Assistance Program, and The Moose
Radio Station.
Christmas is the season for giving back to our
community. The vision of the “Santa for Seniors” program is to ensure the
senior citizens of Lewis County are not forgotten during the holiday season.
